I don’t believe what I just saw

From Fangraphs:

According to the empirical win expectancy, the chances of winning a game when down 7-0 going into the bottom of the 7th inning is about 0.6% (based on 17 wins in 3053 games from 1977-2006). And within 15 minutes and an Ortiz 3-run homer, they were right back in it. It was so weird to watch. I knew I should have been way more excited than I was, but I was just so completely mentally checked out just a few minutes earlier, my brain was so confused.

Chip Caray’s “We’re going to Tampa!” line as Youkilis was scoring the winning run reminded me of Joe Buck’s “And we’re headed to New York!” when Ortiz hit that bloop single in game 5 in 2004.

Holy shit.
